DAVE: we left Zubiri this morning around 8:00 this morning after breakfast. The leg for this day was an easy walk. Most of it was shaded and along a river. No great elevation change for today so our feet got a rest (if walking 20 kilometers count as a rest). We weaved in and out of the tree-covered trail along the river, passing though little villages along the way. It's evident the "ants" are slowly spreading out as the days pass. We occasionally bump into friends we've made the last few days and re-connect with them. The march continues southwest and we are feeling good, knowing we're moving away from the south side of the Pyrenees and its associated wet weather. In a few days time, the trail will bend to a more westerly route.
The weather was a welcomed overcast most of the day so we were spared dealing with sunscreen today. As we approached Pamplona, some raindrops signaled that our luck might change, but nothing significant. We understand that tropical storm Henri may threaten Europe later in the coming week, so rain may greet us in a few days.
Tonight, we're looking forward to a nice evening in Pamplona then bed. Tomorrow will be a bit more difficult, but nothing that we Pyrenees-crossing pilgrims can't handle. We continue on with good spirits and no significant feet issues. Buen Camino!
